Going back over almost two years of PC backups these have added up to about 90GB of wasted space. So tonight there was about 28GB of redundant data being backed up plus a repeat in the system image, for a total of about 56GB wasted space.ĭeleting these files removed about a third of the data backup requirement. So I had four caches (one for each download) each of about 6.5GB, plus four log sets each of about 0.5GB. I noticed tonight that my computer’s backup files are rather big and the RAID1 backup store is becoming tight on space, so had a look at what was being so hungry.Īmongst other wastes of space I discovered that by far the worst culprit is the Naviextras which does not clear its download cache when done.
